Thank you for attending NCE Future of Bridges 2022
We hope that you found the conference informative and worthwhile.
Last year’s COP26 Summit drove home the urgency and significance of our climate crisis. Now, the biggest challenge facing the bridges industry is the carbon agenda. The focus for bridge owners and their supply chains is now on
innovative solutions
to driving down embedded carbon,
circularity in projects, and better use of
existing structures,
from maintenance to
reuse and repurpose.
This challenge offers the industry the opportunity to rethink how bridges should serve future communities.
What does the industry need to do to bring bridge structures up to speed with the needs of modern-day society?
How can we bring the carbon agenda to the forefront of projects?
What changes do we need to see across the industry and which innovations are going to help us get there?
We brought together the industry’s thought leaders on 8 June 2022 at a pivotal time for the sector.
This year’s virtual gathering of Future of Bridges 2022 was themed on carbon and net-zero for bridges.
The programme explored the biggest challenges and opportunities for innovation in driving down carbon through thought-provoking keynote talks, industry debates, spotlight projects and Pecha Kucha style talks.
The 4th annual event also coincided with New Civil Engineer’s 50th anniversary. To celebrate, the event kicked off with a special opening keynote session looking at key reflections on the last 50 years of bridge failures and a look ahead the next 50 years.
Register your interest for 2023 event.
