James Martin is Business Development Associate for Heavy Civils in the Balkans at Bechtel, leading pursuit strategy for new energy and civil infrastructure across the region. Previously, he was Structures Superintendent on Serbia’s Morava Corridor motorway, delivering major bridge and structure works. He has also worked on pumped hydro storage projects in Australia, Edmonton Valley Line light rail in Canada, London City Airport, HS2 and the Great Western Electrification programme in the UK. His experience spans construction and project management, field engineering and design management across motorway, rail, airport, pumped hydro and fibre communications programmes. James holds a Master of Engineering in mechanical engineering from Durham University and is an Associate Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a member of the Australian Tunnelling Society.
