Robin is head of resilience at National Highways, responsible for the resilience of the strategic road network against civil emergency risks and threats. He has been involved in resilience and emergency preparedness for twenty years, leading planning and organisational responses to a wide range of events and emergencies including the 2012 London Olympics, extreme weather events and flooding, transport accidents and the COVID-19 pandemic. He was awarded an MBE in 2023 in recognition of his support to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and his work in resilience over many years.
