My career has been evenly split between bridge design, and bridge remediation and I have worked for most of the major consultants in the UK. My research interests are concrete repair and bridge maintenance systems. In my current role with Amey Highways I am responsible for the technical quality of our structures output, and I also take a keen interest in our long span bridge commission (National Highways’ SBIM project). I have previously worked on secondment to Network Rail as a technical approver; my experience is 80% highways and 20% rail.
